Billable

Bill. Sue. Poach.

Run a law firm of pixel lawyers you actually own. Every 12 hours each one bills hours, digs for evidence, takes a rival to court or tries to poach their best people. Fifteen turns later, the most valuable firm wins the court term.

  • Robinhood Chain
  • 12-hour turns
  • Genesis: 5,000 lawyers

Examples: a Litigator wins in court and takes 30% of the rival's fees; a Discovery job finds a rare item; a Closer is poached to a new firm; a lawyer bills hours overnight; the court term ends after 15 turns.

The world

Welcome to Docket Street

A city that never stops billing. Every tower on Docket Street holds a firm, every firm holds a roster of lawyers, and every twelve hours the whole street goes to work at once. Nobody moves first. Everybody finds out together.

How it works

One turn, twelve hours

It's an idle strategy game: a few minutes of decisions, then the clock does the work. Orders repeat until you change them, so most turns are a quick check-in.

  1. Check the ticker

See last turn's court pools, match rates and who got poached.

  2. Give orders

Each lawyer gets one job: Bill, Discovery, Litigate or Poach.

  3. Twelve hours pass

Every firm resolves at the same moment from one public random seed.

  4. Read the results

Fees, verdicts, drops, transfers. Everything can be re-checked.

  5. Claim and invest

Pay upkeep, rank lawyers up, equip items, level your partner.

Every duel uses one published formula. Scores are the lawyer's stat, plus a small streak bonus for sticking with the same fight. Anyone can recompute every verdict from the turn's random seed.

P(win) = 1 / (1 + 10^((them - you) / 20))

The golden rule

Put every lawyer on the job their skills are built for. We ran thousands of simulated court terms to make sure that "play to your lawyers' strengths" is the strongest strategy, and that no single job wins on its own.

No two lawyers alike

Lawyers are generated when they are revealed. The same verifiable random number that rolls a lawyer's grade and skills also rolls their looks: skin, hair, suit, neckwear, eyewear, accessory and backdrop, over 150 million combinations.

Looks aren't only cosmetic. Clothes and accessories add +1 to +3 to a stat, depending on how rare they are. Every hairstyle adds +2 to a different stat. Skin tone, hair colour and facial hair are cosmetic only, on purpose. On average, looks add about +6 stat points, roughly one extra basic skill.

These cards are random examples drawn in your browser by the same generator the game uses. They are not minted, and they are not for sale here. Minting happens in the game app.

Grow it, or guard it

Ranks, your partner and your loot make lawyers stronger. But a poached lawyer loses its rank and items, so what you invest in, and when, is the real game.

Ranks 1-10

Spend tokens and experience to add +1 to every stat per rank. Rank 6 earns 5% more; from rank 7, gear stops wearing out.

Managing Partner

One per firm, with 6 to 10 room slots. Each level adds +1 to all stats for the lawyers in its span of control, and its rooms buff them further. Big firms need a big partner.

Evidence locker

Two spare items per lawyer. Equip them, place them with the Partner, craft three into one of the next tier, or lose the overflow at the end of the turn.

Loot worth hunting

90 items in seven tiers. Every card shows its colour and Item Power, and a higher tier always beats a lower one. Below the named artefacts, the rank in the name tells you what you've got: Intern's, Clerk's, Associate's, Partner's.

The Gavel line from Intern's (grey, IP 19) through Clerk's, Associate's and Partner's to the legendary Gavel of First Precedent (gold, IP 230).
One line through the ranks: Intern's, Clerk's, Associate's, Partner's, then the legendary Gavel of First Precedent.

Fourteen named artefacts sit above Epic. Each is numbered, remembers the firm that found it, and is announced to the whole server when it drops. The two Royalty pieces exist once, ever.

FAQ

Objections, answered

What kind of game is this?

An idle strategy game. You own lawyer NFTs and give each one a standing order. Every 12 hours every firm's orders resolve at once. A court term is 15 turns (7.5 days), and the firm worth the most at the end wins.

How much time does it take?

A few minutes per turn, often less: orders repeat until you change them. The skill is in reading the ticker and changing the right order at the right time.

Are the lawyers really random?

Yes. A lawyer's grade, skills and looks are all rolled at reveal from a verifiable random number, and the roll function is public, so anyone can check any lawyer.

Do looks change gameplay?

A little. Clothes and accessories add +1 to +3 to one stat, and every hairstyle adds +2 to one stat. Skin tone, hair colour, facial hair and backdrop are cosmetic only. On average looks add about +6 points, about the same as one basic skill.

Can I lose my lawyers?

Yes, but it's rare and you choose the risk. A lawyer on Poach can be poached by a rival firm, and a lawyer who loses in court has a small chance of disbarment. Bill and Discovery are safe. Ethics, the retainer and some skills cut the risk.

Which chain? Which wallet?

Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum-compatible network. Any EVM wallet that supports custom networks will work. The game app will walk you through connecting.

Where do I mint?

In the game app, once Genesis opens. This site is for learning about the game; it never asks you to connect a wallet. Always check the app address against our official channels.

Is this an investment?

No. It's a game. Tokens and NFTs can lose value, and nothing on this site is financial advice. Only spend what you're happy to spend on a game.
